The main goal of this project was delivering information for the Croatian fans in Austria during the EURO 2008 championship. It was carried out with local governemnts and organisation comitee linked to public services in host cities.
The idea was to create a welcoming atmosphere for the fans, answer their qustions and answer any possible request they might have. By ensuring communication with them, it was easier to avoid misunderstanding and any kind of trouble. The services included web sites, city info-points, helpline and 50 Croatian volunteers on tourist info-points throughout the host city. All the support facilities lasted for the whole duration of the championship. Project partners were FARE, UEFA, the Croatian Football Federation and the Ministry of Family, Veterans' Affairs and Intergenerational Solidarity.
During the project, over 5.000 leaflets were distributed, a web site was developed and is functioning, a helpline was working, info-points were working the whole day, in the case of one deceased, the transportation has been provided, 30 lost personal belongings were returned to their owners.
