European statistics

Collecting and analysing data from our member organisations, partners and stakeholders is at the very core of our activities. ERYICA strives for gathering and updating data on youth information in Europe. The latest available statistics will be presented here regularly.

At the end of 2005, according to the results of a survey conducted by ERYICA:

1. there were 25 European countries maintaining a national network of "generalist" youth information centres, plus a significant number of countries in the process of establishing such a network.
2. almost 8,000 local and regional centres belonged to these national networks.
3. around 13,000 youth information workers were employed (full-time or part-time) in these centres.

During the year 2005, these centres received a total of around 23 million visits. This figure is solely based on the number of visits provided by the centres, however does not include data indicating the use of other services, such as phone calls, requests by post and e-mail, or the use of online services.
