As of the 1st of May, every minister in the Welsh Government is required to consider the rights of children and young people in all the decisions they make on new legislation, policies and changes to existing policy.

Pan-European Campaign Action Day

Today, 16th May 2012, the ERYICA network is celebrating one of the milestones of the Information Right Now! campaign all across Europe by creating, together with young people, a question mark as a symbol for all the questions young people have that require qualitative answering. This action shall demonstrate the right to high-quality information young people have and aid to have youth information acknowledged and fortified as a right in itself.

Forum MNE New Full Member of ERYICA

Forum MNE
At its General Assembly in April 2012 in Malta, the ERYICA network warmly welcomed the Forum Mladi I Neformalna Edukacija (Forum MNE) as a full Member Organisation and hence changing its previous membership status of Affiliated Organisation. Furthermore, Jelena Miljanic nominated by Forum MNE was elected to become a new Governing Board Member as of the end of the General Assembly in Malta. We are looking forward to a year of fruitful cooperation and wish her all the best for her mandate.

Information Right Now! Campaign Launch

Today, the European Youth Information and Counselling Agency ERYICA in partnership with the Council of Europe, launched a European campaign: “Information Right Now!” intends to raise awareness of the special role of youth information with regard to young people’s access to rights and – eventually – on the access to information as a right in itself for all young people.

Youth Democracy Award

EU-CoE youth partnership: Youth Democracy Award for young people committed to the strenghtening of democracy in Europe In 2012 the Youth Democracy Award is awarded by the Federal Agency for Civic Education/bpb (Germany) for the fourth time. The Youth Democracy Award will be given to a project which advocates democracy in an outstanding way.

On 13 December 2011, during a high-level conference of the Pompidou Group, two jurors are launching the 5th European Drug Prevention Prize in Ljubljana. The Council of Europe is herewith calling for projects to apply to the Prize 2012 which will be awarded at the end of the year 2012, during the Pompidou Group's mid-term conference.

New Affiliated Organisation - SEGA

By the date of 15 December 2011, the Coalition of Youth Organizations SEGA upgraded their ERYICA membership from Co-operating to Affiliated status. SEGA is based in the city of Prilep in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) and has been established on initiative of the Youth Council of Prilep during the implementation of the “National Youth Action Plan”. SEGA has been formed with the purpose to contribute to the process of creating and implementing the country’s National Youth Strategy and to assist in fulfilling the needs of the youth.
