InfoEck: EVS Project connects one Europe through participation
The European Voluntary Service project, involving 14 long-term volunteers in the Austrian region of Tirol is almost halfway through! The colourful bunch of volunteers comes from 12 countries and is active in different organisations in the youth, social and cultural field.
The coordinating youth info “InfoEck” connects them through various participative projects. For example, the volunteers host their own monthly radio show and fill it with their own topics and music, while some of them have also started a common blog. Additionally, they are currently kicking off a “workshop project”, in which the volunteers will offer different workshops at a cultural venue in Innsbruck in spring 2017, which will be open for the public.
By independently realising this project, they learn to cooperate in an intercultural team and share their passions and knowledge with others. During the European Youth Week, the volunteers will cook at a community kitchen and donate the revenues to young refugees. All of these participative projects are run outside of their volunteering service and offer the EVS volunteers additional learning experience.
