Greening Youth Information Services Launch of Publication

Are you available on 5 June at 14.00 - 16.00? Then join our webinar! It will take place on Zoom and on Facebook live, and you can register here.

Context:

Eurodesk and ERYICA joined forces to provide the youth information sector with guidelines and background on greening their services and supporting young people in their environmental ambitions. The result of this work, the Greening Youth Information Services guide will be presented online on World Environment Day.

The Publication:

The aim of youth information is not only to respond to the needs, interests and requests of young people but also to anticipate their needs and develop preventive measures accordingly. The aim of the guide is to explore the role of youth information work in the context of the climate emergency, as well as to provide concrete tips and examples of good practices when it comes to designing and providing greener youth information services. The guide provides examples for youth information services on how to inform, engage and empower young people on environmental sustainability. The objective is also to raise awareness about the importance of greener youth information strategies and youth programmes among service providers and policymakers. The publication is complemented with policy recommendations, examples of non-formal education activities and a green glossary.

The Event:

You can meet the authors and contributors of the booklet during the online launch event at 2 p.m on 5 June. The speakers will include the presidents of ERYICA and Eurodesk, Jaana Fedotoff and Ingrida Jotkaite, a young climate activist, Anuna de Wever, authors of the publication and promoters of good practices. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions from each of them.

The event will walk you through the publication, its structure and several of its good practices.

The first 100 applicants can take part in the event via Zoom and ask questions from the speakers. The event will be streamed on Facebook, where all other interested participants can attend.
