Academy of Human Rights and Minorities in Albania

For over a decade, it has been a proud tradition of the Youth Voice Network of Organisations (YVNO) to host the annual Academy of Human Rights and Minorities, now in its 13th year. In collaboration with the Albanian Human Rights Group, this program is a cornerstone of YVNO's commitment to empowering young people to champion human rights in a democratic society.

The academy serves as an exceptional platform for young individuals who aspire to positively influence society and advocate for the promotion and protection of human and minority rights. Participants engage in interactive sessions led by esteemed Albanian and international experts, covering vital topics such as discrimination, minority rights, women's and children's rights, the role of media, and the functioning of parliamentary institutions.

Through workshops, discussions, and practical activities, the academy fosters an inclusive community passionate about positive change and proactive engagement. The inclusion of real-world case studies and role-playing exercises allows attendees to apply their knowledge in practical settings, fostering a deeper understanding of the complexities involved in human rights advocacy.

The enthusiasm and commitment of our recent attendees underscore the profound importance of this tradition to YVNO. Their active participation highlights the crucial role that youth play in upholding democratic values and human rights principles. We are deeply invested in nurturing the potential of young people as catalysts for positive social transformation and are proud of the academy's enduring impact on Albania's next generation of advocates.
