Virtual Reality Youth Service: Kick-Off Meeting in Dublin
From 3–5 November, ERYICA participated in the launch of the Virtual Reality in Youth Work project in Dublin, Ireland. This Erasmus+ KA2 initiative is coordinated by the Technological University of the Shannon (Ireland) and brings together an impressive consortium of partners and associated organisations.
The meeting provided the first opportunity for partners—including Youth Work Ireland, the City of Helsinki, and Howest School of West Flanders—to collaborate in person. Associated partners, such as the Kezdj Velunk Foundation (Hungary), Limerick Youth Services (Ireland), Kerry Regional Youth Services (Ireland), Center for Sustainable Community Development (Romania), Donegal Youth Services (Ireland), Association of Active Youth Florin (Greece), Tipperary Regional Youth Services (Ireland), and DIAK Youth Work (Finland), also joined to set the stage for this ambitious project.
Spanning three years, the project aims to engage young people who are often difficult to reach due to neurodivergences, physical disabilities, geographic isolation, or digital absorption. Through a Virtual Reality (VR) platform designed, developed, and managed collaboratively by young people and European youth work organisations, the project seeks to foster inclusion, creativity, and sustainable engagement in youth work and informal education.
ERYICA plays a key role in the project by focusing on dissemination, providing a European perspective, and ensuring the sustainability of the project’s outcomes.
