Pioneering youth information services in the Western Balkans

The consortium meeting of the YinfoPioneers - Pioneering youth information services in the Western Balkans project happened in Tirana, European Youth Capital 2022, on 1-2 December 2022. 

The project consortium discussed further project steps. A webinar on youth information will be held on 21-22 February 2022; the Participants will familiarise themselves with the concept, principles and impact of youth information and understand its relevance. They will learn about different youth information models, practices and resources and understand how youth information is embedded into national youth policies and youth work. 

A JIMMY course addressed to the YinfoPioneers from the Western Balkans will be organised at the end of March 2023. Later, the participants will have the opportunity to deepen the advocacy topic through the ALTYO course at the end of June 2023. 

Moreover, the partners put the emphasis on the need to involve young people as much as possible, for example, by having them onboard to design the project's visual identity. The project partners from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and North Macedonia are conducting focus groups with young people to understand their information needs and better reflect their wishes and demands in future youth information services. A report will follow the organisation of the focus groups. 

The consortium also had a unique opportunity to present the project to the Minister of State for Youth and Children of Albania to learn more about the fundamental role of youth information in the National Youth Strategy of the country and to set the basis for future cooperation.

Finally, the partnership had the chance to visit the premises of Tirana Youth Capital.
