Policy recommendations for enhancing Youth Mental Health Support

This report compiles and presents nine policy recommendations for stakeholders to enhance youth mental health support. This can be used as a document to lean on for advocacy at the local, regional, national and international level.

The YIMinds project has collected information from these sources:

  • National reports from project partners to provide an overview of youth mental health in each partner's country

  • Focus group sessions with young people conducted by project partners to understand their needs on mental health

  • A survey and focus group sessions with youth workers to identify their requirements in training and to recognise mental health issues and provide initial assistance

The recommendations listed below can be consulted in detail in the document.

    2. Mental health literacy programmes

    3. Involvement of young people

    4. Access to mental health programmes
