EU Unveils Progress Report on Digital 2030 Strategy

The European Commission has published the second report on the State of the Digital Decade, providing an overview of progress towards the EU’s 2030 digital objectives set by the Digital Decade Policy Programme (DDPP). This year's report includes an analysis of national Digital Decade strategic roadmaps from Member States, outlining planned measures, actions, and funding contributions to the EU's digital transformation.

The report highlights key areas needing improvement, such as digital skills, high-quality connectivity, AI uptake, and start-up ecosystems. For youth and youth workers, this report underscores the importance of digital literacy, emphasising the need for targeted investments in education and training to equip young people with essential digital skills.

The findings call for enhanced efforts from Member States to meet digital targets and ensure that the younger generation is prepared for a digital future. This is critical for fostering innovation, bridging the digital divide, and promoting equal opportunities.
