Ibero-Insular Working Group: A Collaborative Journey in Pamplona
The annual meeting of the Ibero-Insular working group took place in October in Pamplona, hosted by the Navarran Youth Institute. Over three productive days, 25 participants from Spain, Portugal, and Andorra gathered to review their ongoing work, exchange best practices, and plan the group’s priorities for the upcoming year.
A highlight of the meeting occurred on 17 October, when more than 50 youth workers from Navarra’s youth information network joined the event. This enriching exchange allowed participants to explore the Navarran context and draw insights from the expertise of local youth information professionals.
For the coming year, the working group will focus its efforts on two key areas through dedicated commissions: Youth Ambassadors and Training.
Youth Ambassadors Commission
The Youth Ambassadors Commission is preparing to launch the long-awaited Ibero-Insular Youth Ambassadors Website. This project, developed over the past two years, will provide comprehensive guidance and resources for becoming a youth ambassador in Portugal and Spain. It represents a collaborative effort by CRDIJ Madrid, the Navarran Youth Institute, and IVAJ, benefiting all nine ERYICA members involved in the working group.
The website will be available in Basque, Catalan, Galician, Portuguese, and Spanish, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility. Looking ahead, the group is planning youth ambassador exchanges across the regions in 2025, paving the way for the next Ibero-Insular Youth Ambassadors Summit, scheduled for 2026.
Training Commission
The Training commission will focus on expanding access to ERYICA training courses in the group’s languages and facilitating the exchange of trainers across regions. Additionally, the commission aims to launch a seasonal Ibero-Insular Training Newsletter in 2025. This newsletter will feature training opportunities, good practice exchanges, and updates to foster professional growth and collaboration within the network.
The meeting in Pamplona reaffirmed the commitment and shared vision of the Ibero-Insular working group. With these ambitious initiatives, the group continues to strengthen youth information services and promote cooperation across the Iberian and Insular regions.
A special thank you goes to the Navarran Youth Institute for organising this inspiring event and showcasing Navarra's rich culture. Their efforts also allowed participants to gain valuable insights into the Navarran youth information network, further enriching the experience.
