The InfoPEERs Training Course in Timișoara
The InfoPEERs training course took place from October 21 to 25 at the Youth House in Timișoara, bringing together 15 young participants from Romania, Moldova, Sweden, Spain, Tunisia, and Jordan. Organized by the National Youth Foundation with the support of FITT Timișoara, the program focused on developing peer-to-peer education skills, equipping participants with the tools to facilitate informed discussions and promote access to reliable information.
Designed by ERYICA, the training combined personal development with practical application. Daily sessions covered key topics such as peer education fundamentals, educational tools, and facilitation techniques. Participants engaged in interactive workshops, team challenges, and simulation exercises, fostering collaboration and building their confidence as peer educators.
The multicultural group dynamic encouraged a valuable exchange of ideas and perspectives. Local and international participants worked together to explore diversity and develop empathy, creating an enriching environment for learning. A guided tour of Timișoara’s city center added a cultural dimension to the experience.
By the program’s end, participants had acquired essential skills to support youth education initiatives within their organizations. Each participant demonstrated their ability to design and lead a peer education session, showcasing the program’s impact.
The InfoPEERs training was part of the Youth Work 2.0 Project, funded by the Municipality of Timișoara through the Center for Projects and co-funded by the European Union's Erasmus+ program. It marked a significant step in empowering young people to inspire and support their peers through education and information.
