Empowering young citizens to become better

informed consumers

Today, The European Commission is launching four new educational videos, aiming to empower EU citizens to become better-informed consumers and take positive action in the areas of financial literacy, internet safety, data protection and sustainable consumption.

Join the ‘Your future. Your choice.’ campaign, which will run until 21 May, by promoting the videos via your communication channels and by encouraging your community to do the same. This campaign could also be an excellent opportunity to share advice and practical tips on these essential topics.

The launch of the campaign coincides with World Consumer Rights Day, an excellent opportunity to raise awareness about consumer rights and needs and protest against potential market abuses and social injustices that undermine those rights.

The educational videos, available in 2 different lengths and 26 languages, can be downloaded via the Commission’s audio-visual library.

A social media toolkit has been created to facilitate the promotion of the videos. This toolkit contains reference material that can be adapted to your needs and your channels’ style, including social media posts, Q&A, and community management guidelines. The social media posts and Q&A are available in 26 languages. You can download the toolkit via https://rebrand.ly/consumer_videos_toolkit

ERYICA partnered with Ecorys to support the European Commission, DG Justice and Consumers, and CHAFEA in the production and promotion of these videos. We are glad to see that the idea of one of ERYICA’s members, the Education and Youth Authority of Estonia, produced one of the awarded ideas.
