More than 150 youth ambassadors in the Valencian Region projected 2021-22

Youth ambassadors collaborate with the youth information services of a municipality or region, detecting information needs and demands and bringing the information directly to the youth of their school, vicinity, or association.

The objective of the ambassadors' programme is that young people receive useful, relevant, and close information from other young people. Youth information improves in speed and proximity with ambassadors in secondary schools, neighbourhoods, and organizations, as evidenced in the three meetings of youth ambassadors that were held this summer at the youth camp Jaume I in Alcossebre. These meetings took stock of an academic year conditioned by the COVID-19 pandemic and made new proposals for 2021-2022.

In each of the three meetings held, about 50 young people from three different parts of the region participated. Together with youth workers from various municipalities, they worked on different aspects regarding social networks and carried out interactive workshops, games and youth work activities in 'bubble groups', maintaining all the precautions that the health situation required.

The first meeting, held on July 5 and 6, brought together 46 young people from secondary schools in the region's north. Some young people explained how they had participated in a project during the pilot training course DesYIgn, in which IVAJ participated with other ERYICA members.

These young people explained how they had carried out their own project, which aimed at developing an application for the Youth Card in their municipality. They followed the different stages of the Design Thinking methodology as described in the DesYIgn Toolkit and course, that is, Discover, Define, Develop and Do it.
