Paying attention to young people's mental health and self
awareness is more important than ever
Youth information services have a vital role in youth's lives, and it is getting more and more critical considering rapid changes in the world. Estonian youth information brand Teeviit and its partners support young people with various topics, and presently make a major contribution to mental health topics.
Services and youth information tools must meet today's needs of young people and provide opportunities to reflect and collect information. Estonian youths Kätlyn Jürisaar and Merili Ginter created a self-analysis diary for young people, “Huggy“. Huggy helps with everyday worries and joys and provides support on mental health topics.
Huggy is a self-initiative that was created by the needs and wishes of young people themselves. Huggy creators Kätlyn and Merili express that with this tool, they want to support youth self-development, encourage them and help them analyse their joys and worries. They aim to support self-discovery and self-love, which significantly impact young people’s lives and mental health. We want everyone to take small steps to start believing in themselves.
Huggy – what is it?
Huggy is a diary of self-analysis, and it is like a trip with what you find out about your feelings and desires. With Huggy's journal, young people can look inside themselves for 100 days, answer various exciting questions, solve tasks that develop creativity, get inspiration from stories, find tips and tricks, and fill in exciting lists. The content of Huggy's diary has been acknowledged by psychologists.
