Report_Hate – First transnational reporting portal for Hate Speech in Europe

Partners from Germany, Hungary, North Macedonia, Slovakia, Israel, Croatia, and Spain will launch the first transnational reporting portal for hate speech on November 4, 2024. The project, which is funded by the European Union's ERASMUS+ program, will run from 2023 to 2025. Euroaccion from Spain, Mladi EU from Croatia, and the Jugendstiftung from Germany are on board from the ERYICA network. The project is managed by the Youth Agency, a subsidiary of the Jugendstiftung.

The reporting portal is aimed, in particular, at young people who can recognize and report hate speech on the Internet. An accompanying campaign on the Instagram project channel provides information about hate speech online and empowers young people to recognize and actively report it themselves.

For the first time, a catalogue of common categories of hate speech is also being developed. Based on this, a transnational report with country analyses of hate speech will be published at the end of 2025, which will focus, in particular, on the similarities and differences between the reports received.
