UNESCO Calls for Think Pieces on AI and the Future of Education

UNESCO is inviting experts, educators, and researchers to contribute think pieces exploring the evolving relationship between Artificial Intelligence (AI) and education. As AI continues to reshape learning environments, this initiative aims to spark critical reflections on its potential, risks, and long-term implications for education worldwide.

Selected think pieces (maximum 1,500 words) will be published on the UNESCO IdeasLAB, a platform dedicated to debating the futures of knowledge, learning, and education. Submissions will be reviewed on a rolling basis until 30 April 2025.

Key themes include:

  • The impact of AI on pedagogy, assessment, and education systems

  • Ethical and regulatory challenges in integrating AI into learning

  • How education can shape AI norms, ethics, and applications

  • Future skills, knowledge, and values in an AI-driven world

Contributors are encouraged to look beyond immediate concerns and propose forward-thinking perspectives on how AI and education will evolve in the coming years. Submissions must be original, engaging, and accessible to a general audience.

Interested? Submit your think piece here.
