Wrapping-up the DesYIgn project!
Our two-and-a-half-year international project titled Innovative youth information service design and outreach (DesYIgn) has reached its end, and it produced a number of outputs that are interesting for the European youth information work scene, as well as for other sectors of youth work.
The project was set out to adapt and integrate service design thinking in the conception or re-thinking of youth information services according to the needs of young people, so that they are user-friendly, needs-based, competitive and relevant to the target group. The consortium re-thought youth information provision by applying this innovative methodology, which ensures a youth-centred and empowering approach.
The tools and resources created in the project are based on evidence, consultations with young people and stakeholders, and research. They include:
A focus group results report on information-seeking behaviours, needs and trends of young people, which can be used in improving the service design and communication activities of youth information services. The report of the focus groups can be accessed in English here, as well as in Italian and Spanish;
A Toolkit on service design for youth information provision, aiming to reach out to more young people, including quality indicators and measures. The toolkit is available in English, French, German, Spanish and Finnish;
An online course based on the Toolkit, which has been integrated into the ERYICA training system. It is also available in English, French, German, Spanish and Finnish;
Video material to support the eLearning course, which can be used apart as well. Available in the same five languages.
The eLearning course can be organised along with ERYICA’s eLearning guidelines by certified ERYICA trainers.
These outputs were realised with the collaboration of ERYICA, Koordinaatti (Finland), Agence Nationale pour l'Information des Jeunes (Luxembourg), Dirección General de Juventud y Deportes de Madrid (Spain), ProMo-Cymru (Wales), Aġenzija Żgħażagħ (Malta), Institut Valencià de la Joventut (Spain), Youth Work Ireland, and Åbo Akademi University (Finland) as associated partner.
The project received financial support in the framework of the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Commission.
