Youth Connect for Ukraine: empowering young leaders for community impact

FNT is very happy to share some significant achievements of the Youth Connect for Ukraine project, coordinated with the support of the British Council in Oradea and Tulcea. This initiative aimed to strengthen leadership skills among young people from Romania and Ukraine, empowering them to drive change in their communities.

In February and March, they held two leadership training sessions in two of the Youth Houses in Romania, administrated by their members: Romanian Youth Foundation Bihor and Tulcea County Youth Foundation:

  • Oradea Youth House (13–16 February) – 20 young leaders participated

  • Tulcea Youth House (28 February–2 March) – 19 young leaders participated

The participants engaged in hands-on sessions on topics such as entrepreneurship, critical thinking, non-violent communication, skill-building, developing empathy, teamwork, active listening, and many more.

The momentum continued with Pop-Up Week events, where young leaders facilitated community activities, including karaoke nights, theatre performances, art therapy, and leadership workshops. These events created spaces for learning, creativity, and connection.

The passion and commitment shown by the participants reflect the power of youth-led change. We are excited to continue this journey and see the lasting impact of this project!
