Youth Worker Online

Following the successful launch of its mental health campaign ‘Trust Yourself to Talk – Anxiety is this you?’ as part of the  Youth Information initiatives, Aġenzija Żgħażagħ took the campaign a step further and supported the campaign by introducing the service ‘Youth Worker Online’.

Youth Worker Online is a free online service that aims to support young people who may wish to know more about anxiety and mental health and how to get help. Youth Worker Online proved to be an effective tool to allow young people to access complete and reliable information and recognise the work of youth information workers whilst also receiving the necessary support and being referred to professionals working within the mental health field. Over 5,000 young people (European Youth Card Holders) between the age of 16 and 25 received a resource pack which introduced them to the Youth Worker Online service and helpful tools and information regarding mental health services in Malta.

This new continuous service has reached many young people from different walks of life, which enabled Aġenzija Żġħażagħ to touch the ground and identify areas of development to improve its services to equip young people and reach their objectives and gratify their needs.

Youth Worker Online resulted in carrying out a survey addressing young people between the age of 16 and 30; the survey provided a safe space where young people, anonymously,  could share their perspective about mental health, provide suggestions to improve the quality of service and also share new initiatives which could be implemented.
