YouthSkillization in Cyprus

The Cyprus Youth Board, through the brand-new initiative entitled YouthSkillization, allows young people to develop skills that will help them improve their opportunities of entering the labor market, education, and socialisation.

YouthSkillization comprises a series of workshops with different themes that aim to provide skills that will strengthen the psychosocial empowerment of young people, help them find a job, and develop digital and green skills.

The first round of workshops was entitled "#DigitalSelf", lasting two hours. The workshops were held in all the Cyprus Youth Board Youth Multicentre in Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca, Paphos, Agros, Evrychou, and Sotira.

Shortly, the workshops will offer thematic modules such as Digital Mindset and applications to improve everyday life, productivity, and health. They aim to share valuable knowledge on how young people can enhance their brand while strengthening their digital profile and productivity with smart digital applications and tools.

The digital gap is not an exclusive problem of Cyprus but the European Union in general, which for at least a decade has highlighted the issue of empowering young people with the appropriate digital skills. Digital skills are defined as a set of knowledge, skills, and attitudes that give the user digital competence with specific results and are one of the primary conditions for inclusion and development in the labor market.

YouthSkillization is taking place with the support of the representation of the European Commission in Cyprus within the European Year of Skills framework!
