European Young Multiplier: youth information ambassadors in Italy

The fifth edition of the European Young Multiplier project will kick off in November this year. This engaging initiative, managed by the National Coordination Office of Eurodesk Italy, involves approximately 40 Eurodesk information centres and has expanded this year to include a collaboration with 25 Europe Direct centres. With the involvement of 120 schools across 18 Italian regions, the project aims to empower secondary school students in Italy, encouraging them to participate more actively and benefiting from the learning mobility opportunities that the EU provides.

Throughout its editions, the project has involved around 6.000 secondary school students from all over Italy. Students participate in an online training program consisting of five thematic webinars covering topics such as the EU, mobility opportunities, Erasmus+, and the European Solidarity Corps (ESC), and once trained, they become "information multipliers" for their peers.

Participating students earn the title of European Young Multiplier. They gain access to a special virtual space filled with updated links to current European opportunities, which allows them to continue peer-to-peer communication over time. After the training, students also have the opportunity to organize public events in cooperation with local Eurodesk centres, allowing them to share their insights with their fellow students who were not directly part of the project.

Additionally, schools have the opportunity to establish a European Corner, a dedicated physical space for disseminating the mobility opportunities the European Union offers to young people. This corner serves as a hub for information on youth programs and other relevant opportunities. Through the European Corner, European Young Multiplier students can share information with other young people using a peer-to-peer approach, effectively engaging them in the available opportunities.
