ChisinauNOW: The Youthful Heart of Europe in Moldova

As a finalist city in the European Youth Capital 2027 competition, several focus groups were organized between March and September 2024 to develop the application program. Creating a platform for young people and civil society organizations allowed us to develop an application that includes the involvement of the entire community in the action plan for the European Youth Capital 2027 title.

During these activities, participants presented their ideas and visions of a friendly and attractive European city for future generations.

Among the proposals made by the participants were:

• The organization of international youth festivals to promote cultural diversity and intercultural exchange;

• The creation of a multifunctional center for youth, which would include modern gyms and an IT center for the development of digital skills;

• The introduction of a Youth Card, offering discounts and access to various cultural and educational services and activities;

• The development of international mobility programs for young people, facilitating opportunities for study, volunteering, and work experiences abroad.

These initiatives, along with many others, reflect the desire of young people to transform Chisinau into a more dynamic, innovative, and open city, offering more opportunities and resources for their personal and professional development.
