Grants of up to 250 euros to young people for attending language camps and youth events 

The Directorate General of Youth of the Region of Murcia has made grants of up to 250 euros available to young people from Murcia to attend language camps and youth events.

The grants are aimed at young people born between 1 January 2000 and 31 December 2009 to carry out these activities until 10 September 2024. The deadline for applications is 11 September to 30 September 2023 inclusive.

Some 6,000 young people will benefit from a grant of 100 euros for participation in youth camps and meetings, while up to 1,400 young people will receive a grant of 250 euros for language immersion courses or programmes.

The Region of Murcia allocates 600,000 euros to subsidise participation in camps, organised by public and private entities, understood as those leisure and free time activities developed in the field of non-formal education in natural or urban environments, which promote coexistence, training and the acquisition of democratic values, with a minimum overnight stay of six consecutive nights away from the participant's usual home.

It also includes youth meetings involving ten or more young people and requiring a minimum of three consecutive nights away from the participant's usual place of residence. The minimum cost per participant for these activities must be 100 euros.

The other line of funding is aimed at language immersion courses or programmes for learning a language abroad, as well as language camps that take place in another country, with a minimum duration of seven days. The minimum cost per participant in these activities must be 250 euros, and the Regional Ministry of the Presidency, Tourism, Culture, Youth and Sports earmarked 350,000 euros to finance these grants.
