Looking forward to a new normality in youth work

In 2021, the EU-Council of Europe youth partnership conducted two surveys that further developed and expanded on the issues that emerged from the 2020 survey on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the youth sector.

These surveys managed within the framework of the EU-Council of Europe youth partnership's Knowledge Hub, brings together the findings, analyses and impacts that COVID-19 is having on the lives and futures of young people.

It is worth noting that there is a need for greater cooperation and coordination between the state and NGO sectors in communicating with, informing and seeking feedback from young people. This approach could avoid mixed messaging and promote a more positive response from young people. One-way communication needs to be replaced by dialogue and information, and feedback needs to be more widely shared by the state and NGO sectors and young people.
