The European Year of Youth continues in full swing!
The EYYY 2022 portal is constantly being updated. New Youth Policy Initiatives have been added to inspire organisations working with young people in the last month. There are dozens of them to learn about topics such as health, well-being and sports, culture, green or employment and inclusion!
Among other initiatives, the European Commission will organise a visit of young people to Berlaimont in the course of the year to conduct a policy dialogue with them. In addition, the Youth voices platform that will connect young people from all corners of Europe is expected to be launched in the upcoming months.
Apart from that, the European Commission’s DG for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion has started an evaluation process of the Council Recommendation on the Quality Framework for Traineeships. The evaluation will review whether the Framework can sufficiently guarantee traineeship quality, or whether developments in the labour markets and changing skills requirements (including the need for better digital and green skills), as well as the COVID-19 pandemic, might have changed the landscape and conditions for traineeships. Besides, a study on rural youth will be launched in April to evaluate the engagement and needs of young people in rural areas of Europe.
