Young Europeans are increasingly engaged!

The last Flash Eurobarometer on Youth and Democracy, published by the European Commission, shows that youth engagement has increased by 21% since 2019. Today, more than half of young Europeans (58%) are active in their societies and participate in community activities and youth organisations.

39% think that the best way to make their voice hear is to vote in local, national and European election, while 30% prefers to advocate through social media. 72% of young people expect decision-makers to listen more to their demands and act on them. They believe there should be a particular focus on mental health,  environment, education, training, and inequalities. They demand the European Union  preserve peace, fight poverty, promote environmental awareness and increase job opportunities for young people.

There is a clear call for integrating disadvantaged young people into society and providing them with opportunities to learn and join the labour market.
